Model Engineering Railway Group – a long-running, often bafflingly-technical club. I love buying kits from them, ones that I’m sure I’ll one day need, and then not building them. Or – even more commonly – building them but never quite getting them to work. The forum isn’t for the faint hearted. Members only, but great value.
Pendon – near where I grew up, the Pendon Muesum is a spectacular set of model railways of breathtaking ambition and execution. Not just an incredible place to visit visually, but the historical centre of the model railway hobby.
